Within this there is a change of mood that corresponds to the most important events of Tissots personal life. His paintings reflect his interest in the worlds of society and fashion that later gave way to domestic life--glittering balls to picnics in his garden,quiet afternoons in the park and crowds of guests to intimate groups. At the end of his career Tissot turned to the pious recreation of stories from the Bible.
