Mythological Art

      Along with William Morris, Edward Coley Burne-Jones represented the second wave of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, a group of British 19th century painters who drew inspiration from the bold and sensual work of the early Italian Renaissance painters. The Wedding of Psyche is an example of this influence. Burne-Jones was taught by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, one of the key figures of the Pre-Raphaelites, and soon surpassed his teacher in skill. With Morris, he anticipated the Arts and Crafts movement, founding Morris & Co., which designed and produced handmade household objects.

Beautiful item ! exactly the way it was pictured and it is even more impressive than any picture posted. You really cannot appreciate this without seeing it in person. The paint literally leaps off the canvas and provides a very dynamic experience.
